Something promised, something due: this is the recipe for chicken in the pot! A good seasonal dish, full of good vegetables and cheap. Tradition says that tonight, King Henry IV, who created this dish, concerned about the welfare of his subjects, would have declared: "I want all the farmers in my kingdom to put the chicken in the pot on Sunday."

So go to your pans to prepare our chicken in the Sunday pot!

Ingredients for 6 people:

Hen: 1
Parsnips: 3
Carrots: 3
Potatoes: 6
Rutabaga: 1
Leeks: 3
Yellow turnips: 3
Celery stalks: 2
Heap of parsley: 1
Garlic cloves: 3
Ornate bouquet
Olive oil Mix 5 berries Salt, Pepper

1. Peel and rinse all the vegetables, then cut them into pieces: parsnips and carrots on sticks; potatoes, kohlrabi and turnips in rooms; Leeks and celery stalks, cut lengthwise and cut into sections.

2. Place parsley, garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons of the mixture of 5 berries, salt and pepper in a blender and sprinkle into large pieces. Decorate the interior of the chicken with this mixture.

3. Place chicken, leeks and bouquet of herbs in a Dutch oven. Cover with water, salt and bring to a boil. Cook for 45 minutes, then add the vegetables and continue cooking for another 30 minutes.

4. Place the chicken and vegetables on a serving plate. You can serve the broth with noodles as an entree.

Small tip: if the broth does not work, let it cool and then store it in a freezer bag. So you will always have a homemade broth at hand and in portions ;-]
